Whether you homeschool or attend a hybrid school, our outdoor programs can enrich and supplement your plans.

Choose from a variety of year-long programs based on your child’s interests. Our offerings include creative writing, archery, science, nature exploration, drama, outdoor games, and more!

Homeschool Explorers Classes

for 2024 - 2025

MONDAYS (12:30 - 3:30)

Outdoor Games by Jess - An energetic, gross motor class designed to keep kids moving while learning about getting along, taking turns, and being a good sport.  Ages 7+ -FULL

Storytelling in nature by Gabby - A creative class aimed more at younger kids who would like a taste of drama, and storytelling through games, books, dress up and mini plays along with outdoor activities.

The ages will determine the level of difficulty with any game or activity, but this is a class where children are not expected to be able to read or write on their own and is designed to incorporate elements of creative writing, storytelling, and drama for younger kids.  Ages 5+

Preschool Forest Explorations by Dana - Following the forest school model of exploring our surroundings, this class is perfect for younger siblings of kids who sign up for an older preschool class or who do not not nap any longer.  Ages 3-5.

TUESDAYS (12:30 - 3:30)

Outdoor Adventures and games by Eliza  - This class explores the out of doors focusing on life skills, self reliance, and leadership as well as outdoor games keeping kids moving while learning about getting along, taking turns, and being a good sport.  Ages 6+

WEDNESDAYS (9:00 - 12:00)

Forest School Science by Nancy -  This class will follow the Forest School model as we discover, observe and learn about being a Backyard Scientist through the seasons. Ages 4-7

WEDNESDAYS (12:30 - 3:30)

Creative arts by Gabby - This class will focus on different kinds of creativity through painting, creative storytelling, drawing, and crafts. This class is perfect for kids who have the interest, dexterity  and attention span for art projects or crafts but do not necessarily need to be able to read or write on their own. Ages 5+ (FULL)

Outdoor Adventures by Carolyn  - This class explores the out of doors by buildling fires, building forts, archery, fishing, map making, etc. as well as helpful tasks such as planting trees or building or repairing play areas,  designed to focus on life skills, self reliance, and leadership.  Ages 6+ (FULL)

THURSDAYS(12:30 - 3:30)

STEM by Jess and Jennifer - By looking at nature, we will discover examples of STEM concepts all around us.  This class will investigate how science concepts can be hypothesized, tested, and evaluated in nature.  Ages 7+ (FULL)

FRIDAYS (9:00-12:00)

Book club by Carolyn  - Readers and non-readers alike will partcipate in reading classic chapter books together and participating in games, art, and activities related to the story.  Participants will be able to vote among several classics to choose about four books over the year  for the group to explore. Ages 6+

Drama by Gabby - This class will focus on the creative elements of theater, including improv games, costumes, scriptwriting, original characters, and acting as kids ultimately learn about all aspects of Drama and develop their own plays to perform for an audience of friends and family throughout the year. The Drama class is meant for kids with a flare for the dramatic and it is expected that they can read and write since they will be learning how to create their own plays. Ages 5+
